Who is a good candidate for Nordlys® Frax 1550?

Nordlys® Frax 1550 was designed to be suitable for several skin types and help people who want younger skin that looks natural. People with concerns about their skin related to aging, scarring, or sun damage are good candidates for this treatment. However, every patient is different, and some people with very dark complexions, active acne, and some other skin conditions may not be the best candidates for Nordlys® Frax 1550.

What can I expect during a Nordlys® Frax 1550 treatment?

To keep you comfortable during your appointment at Body+Beauty Lab, our providers will first apply a topical numbing agent to the designated treatment areas. This will be done about an hour before your treatment to allow for optimal comfort. The Nordlys® Frax 1550 laser device will then be passed over the areas of your skin where you have concerns, which takes around 20-30 minutes right in our treatment room. Afterward, your skin may feel tight and slightly swollen, similar to the feeling of a mild sunburn.

How long does it take to see results?

Immediately after your appointment, you will notice firmer skin that appears brighter and has a noticeably more even skin tone and texture. These results will continue to improve over the next few weeks as your skin’s wound-healing processes continue to produce new collagen fibers and heal the treated areas. Full results are typically best viewed after a few months of continued healing and collagen production.

Are there any side effects from a Nordlys® Frax 1550 treatment?

Most side effects that are experienced from Nordlys® Frax 1550 are mild and temporary. Redness and swelling are common and typically subside within two to three days. The treated skin does often peel, similar to a mild sunburn, and this may last between four and seven days. Your skin may also appear to have a bronzed tone to it, which can last from a couple of days up to two weeks. With our experienced providers and precision treatment processes at Body+Beauty Lab, the risk of more serious side effects, such as infection or scarring, is extremely rare.

How many treatments will I need?

For less severe skin concerns, many patients see results after just one Nordlys® Frax 1550 treatment. However, deeper or long-standing skin concerns may require anywhere from two to eight treatments. Conditions such as hyperpigmentation can often resolve within one treatment, whereas deeper wrinkles or acne scars may need three to five treatment sessions to achieve optimal results.
