What does a chemical peel treatment look like?

On the day of your appointment at Body+Beauty Lab, you’ll be able to relax in a comfortable position throughout your treatment. To begin, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed before a customized solution is carefully applied to the treatment areas. The solution will sit for a duration of time determined in your initial consultation. Once the treatment is complete, the solution will be removed, and a neutralizing agent will be applied. Patients are encouraged to bring light sunscreen and/or a hat to wear outside following the procedure to protect the skin from UV exposure.

Who is a good candidate for a chemical peel?

Good candidates include those with fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and premature aging. Chemical peels are safe options for all skin types from light to dark. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend temporarily refraining from chemical peel treatments.

How long does it take to see results?

You’ll start to see results from your chemical peel within one week, but it can be longer depending on the intensity of your peel. Typically, the stronger the peel, the longer the healing process can take. Many people do notice visible improvement in their skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance after just one treatment.

What can I expect after a chemical peel?

This is a natural part of the process, however, it is important that you do not pick or peel at your treated areas to avoid scarring or irritation. You should keep the skin cleansed and moisturized to maintain the results of your peel. During your recovery period, you should also avoid direct sunlight, excessive sweating, and strenuous exercise. We will provide you with at-home care instructions to ensure a smooth and effective recovery.
